Planning a VBAC?

Vaginal Birth After Caesarean

Vaginal birth after caesarean is not only possible, it is probable. The success rate is 60-80%. Just because you had a C-section, does not mean you need a repeat c-section.

So what can you do to prepare to have the best outcome?

  1. Find a truely VBAC supportive provider. Ask your medical provider what their stance is on VBAC? Do they offer induction for VBAC patients? How many weeks do they support you waiting (40,41,42)? Ask them what their VBAC and c-section rates are. Think about talking to a midwife and having a homebirth.
  2. Wait for labor to start on its own. Avoid induction unless absolutely necessary.
  3. Avoid routine interventions, allow your body to do what it was made for.
  4. Hire a doula! Doula's are proven to reduce c-section rates. Your doula will help you with comfort techniques, positions, and finding the information you need to make informed choices.

As a 3x VBAC mama myself, I would love to support you in your VBAC journey! For a list of VBAC supportive providers and hospitals, please contact me and I would love to help you get connected.
